Niki & Dougie's Wedding

Niki and Dougie were married at the beginning of this month at Langley Castle in Northumberland. After a wet start to the day, the day kept getting better and after the ceremony, the rain had stopped, giving way to some lovely Autumn light.
Niki was a stunning bride.
A lovely intimate ceremony held in the Castle.

The room looked beautiful, with a fantastic pick & mix table and a fab cake featuring Mable the Boxer dog.
And some great speeches.
I especially loved the first dance. It was The Hokey Cokey with Niki & Doug in the middle (and me) and everyone else around the edge - brilliant!

Our Wedding

This wedding I didn't photograph....it was mine. I married Aidan Rose on the 3rd of September in Hexham Abbey, and thought I'd share a few of the photographs with you!
Our photographer was the fabulous Katy Melling. Katy is an amazing photographer and also a good friend of mine. I am also very excited to be photographing her wedding next May.

I had been praying for sunshine on a daily basis for the previous 6 months or so...and they were answered - it was a hazy morning and by the time we were on our way to the church the sun was shining... beating down actually. It was a truly gorgeous day.

My hair was done by the lovely Emma Hill. I met Emma after photographing her wedding last year. My beautiful bouquets were done by Hannah Price of Wildflower, who I can't reccommend highly enough!

And my dress was from the fantastic Rosina Brown in Stocksfield.

The day started at home with Mum & Dad..........

Heading to the Abbey with Dad and my bridesmaids and coming down the aisle as a married woman with Aidan.

My lovely godson Corie...who looked adorable in his suit and later in the evening was centre stage on the dance floor.

My new parents-in-law and gorgeous husband! The kilts are Northumbrian Tartan and came from The Nothumbrian Tartan Company

My beautiful bridesmaids and flower girl. Vik, Lottie, Ali, Cat (all the way from New Zealand!) Liz, Kath and Claudia

Of course Oswald came to the wedding...and of course he wore a bow tie!
We stopped enroute to our reception for some photographs next to a corn field.
Our amazing car was thanks to our friend Laurence who was also our driver! Whizzing along the country lanes with the top down was breezy but fantastic!

Our reception was a marquee at High House Farm Brewery. It was the perfect venue.
My Mum, Sylvia was a full time 'wedding decoration maker' for the 6 months leading up to the wedding. She made 400 ft of bunting, hand printed and lettered name place cards, bows for the chairs, lace candle holders, table plan, tables names....I could go on. She was incredible and it resulted in a beautiful, magical room in which to celebrate our wedding. Dad did his bit too and grew from seed, hundreds of sweetpeas to go on all the tables.

Aidan's Gran made the exquisite flowers for the top of our cake. Each petal of each flower was hand made and hand painted.

We headed out with Katy later on to get some more photographs as the sun was going down

The light was lovely.......

It was the best day of my life. I loved every minute of it, and I love being Mrs Rose - I love you Aidan.

I'm positive that I will become a better wedding photographer now that I have experienced it myself. I now really understand what a special day it is and it makes me love my job even more.

Amy & Bob's Portraits

I met Amy and Bob at the end of August for their portrait session in preparation for their wedding this December

They choose to go to Bamburgh in Northumberland not only for the beautiful setting but this is also where Bob proposed to Amy

Amy and Bob are very easy to photograph! They are so visibly in love with each other and needed no direction from me

Can't wait for the wedding guys! Lots of love xx

Donna & Robert's Wedding

Donna and Robert were married at the end of August at The Church of St John The Baptist in Newcastle. There was a bit of rain in the morning but it turned into a beautiful day in time for the wedding. Donna was calm and collected and looked beautiful

An amazing Rolls Royce got Donna to the church

The church and the ceremony were beautiful and the choir was just amazing

Donna and Robert about to head for Blackfriars for their reception

It was a superb venue for the reception. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and it was such a lovely intimate atmosphere

We had a walk around the nearby cobbled streets for some portraits

Great speeches - with an additional speech from Donna. I like it when brides say a few words too :)
And everone was dancing by the time I left

Donna & Robert.......thank you for making me feel like one of your guests and for being such a pleasure to photograph! x
