Amy & Bob's Wedding

A beautiful castle in snowy surroundings was the setting for Amy and Bob's wedding earlier this month.

Amy was a joy to photograph and looked absolutely stunning.

Bob with the boys.

And a lovely ceremony, with Amy and Bob beaming the whole way through.

We headed into the grounds for some photographs.

Amy, I love this photograph of you. A fabuolous smile!

And I loved the girls in their purple Hunters.

Back into the warmth for some great speeches.

And some nifty moves on the dance floor :)

And what better way to end the day than with some amazing fireworks and mulled wine.

Amy & Bob - thank you for sharing your day with me x

Louise & Mark's Wedding

Louise and Mark's wedding was on a snowy December day at Helmswell Court in Lincolnshire.

The candlelit ceremony was also held at Helmswell in the gorgeous drawing room.

The light was perfect....that lovely winter sun, low in the sky, twinkling off the snow.

Louise didn't bat an eyelid at spending some time outdoors in sub zero temperatures, and even decided she didn't really need to wear her bolero.......what a star! It was worth it to get these photographs.

My favourite shot.

And then we were into the warmth of the hall for a set of fab speeches.

And dancing of course to finish.

Louise and Mark, have a fabulous honeymoon! x

Family Portraits

I have photographed William & Ben a couple of times over the past few years. Recently I met up with the whole family, this time to include the newest addition, little James.
And he was an absolute little star...

I love those toes!

Louise & Mark's Portraits

Louise and Mark are getting married next month in Lincolnshire. We met up in the North East a few weeks ago for their portrait session in preparation.
Louise used to help her Dad with his stall on Armstrong bridge when she was little so it was a nice backdrop for some of the photos.
And the autumn leaves added a lovely flash of colour.

Donna & John's Wedding

Donna and John were married last month at Longhirst Hall in Northumberland.
The flowers and colour scheme were gorgeous autumnal shades to match the October day.

The boys before the ceremony.........
........which was lovely.
Despite a spot of rain we got into the grounds for some photographs.
All three speeches were excellent....poetry, tears and laughter!
And as I left, the dance floor was in full swing...with all ages having a ball.

Niki & Dougie's Wedding

Niki and Dougie were married at the beginning of this month at Langley Castle in Northumberland. After a wet start to the day, the day kept getting better and after the ceremony, the rain had stopped, giving way to some lovely Autumn light.
Niki was a stunning bride.
A lovely intimate ceremony held in the Castle.

The room looked beautiful, with a fantastic pick & mix table and a fab cake featuring Mable the Boxer dog.
And some great speeches.
I especially loved the first dance. It was The Hokey Cokey with Niki & Doug in the middle (and me) and everyone else around the edge - brilliant!

Our Wedding

This wedding I didn't photograph....it was mine. I married Aidan Rose on the 3rd of September in Hexham Abbey, and thought I'd share a few of the photographs with you!
Our photographer was the fabulous Katy Melling. Katy is an amazing photographer and also a good friend of mine. I am also very excited to be photographing her wedding next May.

I had been praying for sunshine on a daily basis for the previous 6 months or so...and they were answered - it was a hazy morning and by the time we were on our way to the church the sun was shining... beating down actually. It was a truly gorgeous day.

My hair was done by the lovely Emma Hill. I met Emma after photographing her wedding last year. My beautiful bouquets were done by Hannah Price of Wildflower, who I can't reccommend highly enough!

And my dress was from the fantastic Rosina Brown in Stocksfield.

The day started at home with Mum & Dad..........

Heading to the Abbey with Dad and my bridesmaids and coming down the aisle as a married woman with Aidan.

My lovely godson Corie...who looked adorable in his suit and later in the evening was centre stage on the dance floor.

My new parents-in-law and gorgeous husband! The kilts are Northumbrian Tartan and came from The Nothumbrian Tartan Company

My beautiful bridesmaids and flower girl. Vik, Lottie, Ali, Cat (all the way from New Zealand!) Liz, Kath and Claudia

Of course Oswald came to the wedding...and of course he wore a bow tie!
We stopped enroute to our reception for some photographs next to a corn field.
Our amazing car was thanks to our friend Laurence who was also our driver! Whizzing along the country lanes with the top down was breezy but fantastic!

Our reception was a marquee at High House Farm Brewery. It was the perfect venue.
My Mum, Sylvia was a full time 'wedding decoration maker' for the 6 months leading up to the wedding. She made 400 ft of bunting, hand printed and lettered name place cards, bows for the chairs, lace candle holders, table plan, tables names....I could go on. She was incredible and it resulted in a beautiful, magical room in which to celebrate our wedding. Dad did his bit too and grew from seed, hundreds of sweetpeas to go on all the tables.

Aidan's Gran made the exquisite flowers for the top of our cake. Each petal of each flower was hand made and hand painted.

We headed out with Katy later on to get some more photographs as the sun was going down

The light was lovely.......

It was the best day of my life. I loved every minute of it, and I love being Mrs Rose - I love you Aidan.

I'm positive that I will become a better wedding photographer now that I have experienced it myself. I now really understand what a special day it is and it makes me love my job even more.
